South African farmer warns of 'lots of food shortages' amidst ongoing power cuts

Due to loadshedding (planned power cuts) an estimated of 40,000 chicken died of suffocation on a farm in the North West province of South Africa when insufficient voltage resulted in the air conditioning at one of the farm's chicken houses to shut down.
